Dribbles, Drabbles, and CASSA SERIES!

Good morning (or afternoon/evening/late night) my lovelies! It's been a while since I've done one of these dribbly/drabbly/drivelly posts, so I thought, why not today? Whilst perusing my little list today, please make sure to get all the way down to #3, because it's an exciting one...

1. The True Meaning of Spectacular

Every year, I take my father to a Red Sox baseball game - a nice sort of twist on what he did for my brother and I when we were young. Fenway Park is a really unique, historic place, and I always love being there...even when the home team delivers another rotten egg for our viewing enjoyment.

BUT, regardless of what the Sox were (or weren't) doing last night at Fenway, we were treated to a truly spectacular laser show by the sky, lit up in glory over the game (and the lights at the park did their part to make the photo I snapped something special):

The light show lasted a long time, with rays shooting golden, then orange, then crimson into the heavy, low-hanging clouds. It was breathtaking.

2. Writing, What?

I thought I'd be using the months before the onset of twindom to write and write and write, and sort of store up lots of writing time before I have zero time - like people tell expecting parents to shore up on sleep. Turns out my idea was just as flawed as the sleep one. Dammit.

Know what I'm doing before the onset of twindom? Not writing, oh Lord, no. I'm getting ready for twindom. It's truly astonishing how much preparation and stuff and work goes into two tiny helpless little beings' arrival.

It's all worth it. It's also a bit frustrating. Maybe next week I'll have more time?

Forced to train a Tgren named Athee and deal with an eager young scientist, he feels invaded. Tensions mount as the ruins reveal a potential weapon, plunging him further into the chaos. All Byron wanted was his privacy…

CassaStorm - Commanding the base on Tgren, Byron watches as a galaxy-wide war encroaches upon the planet. When the war hits Tgren, it triggers nightmares in his son. The ancient alien ship begins transmitting a deadly code and the probe that almost destroyed Tgren twenty years ago returns. The storm is about to break, and Byron is caught in the middle…

  1. I think you should start taking photos of all those duplicate things you must buy for the twins. You know, twin bassinets, twin car seats, twin "first" spoons, twin "first" booties, etc. What a great way to celebrate twins! :D PLEASE DO IT!!!! We want some cuteness overload. lol

  2. That's a great picture! I haven't been to a Red Sox game since I was little (when we used to go to at least 3 every summer). I have been back to Fenway for a few concerts, though.
It's ok to not get any writing done. I don't do that either. At least you have a good excuse :)

  3. That light show is gorgeous! I'm glad you took a picture to share with us. :)

I've never had to prep for the arrival of a baby, but I've seen others have to prep and they never had twins. That would take a lot of time...and two of everything. Yikes!

    Congrats to Alex!

  4. What a gorgeous sky!

Um, you'll never have enough time now. :)

  5. Thanks, Liz!!
That picture is really cool. The sky turned out better than the game.
I don't think I could handle twins. Good luck.

  6. Beautiful photo. I do miss Fenway (yes, even the tiny, uncomfortable seats)--mostly I miss Fenway Franks.

  7. Congrats to Alex and for being showcased here. How sweet to take your dad to this park, um, stadium even if the baseball team sucks (do they??-Can you tell I no spit about sports?). The picture is great-love the rays and it must have been even more special seeing it for real. How are the twins-are they kicking already? I hope you can find a comfy way to sleep.

    1. LOL, yeah, this year they suck. Which is embarrassing because they have one of the highest payrolls in baseball.

Oh yes, the twins are kicking away!! They are super active. It's really cool.

  8. I'm sure there's a lot of preparation to do before the duo makes their appearance. Alas, writing must wait. I hope you find some time, though.

  9. Don't worry, twenty or so years after the twins are born, you'll have more time. My advice for writing with infants. Keep a pad and pen by your rocking chair. When they fall asleep in your arms and are just too adorable to put down, do some writing or keep a book there and read.

  10. SO pumped for Alex! I can't wait to read. and don't worry about the writing or lack thereof--twins is pretty huge!!!! xoxo

  11. That's cool that you take your dad to baseball games. As for writing, well, it happens when it happens. I think you'll have more time for writing than you think with the babies. Maybe not endless hours, but you'll learn how to get in quick writing sessions when you can and probably become more efficient. And yay for Alex.

  12. Light shows are usually spectacular and fun to watch. Good luck with the upcoming twindom. Congrats to Alex!

  13. I only ever made it to Fenway Park twice in my life (and only twice because the first game was rained out and rescheduled after I got there), but it's one of my favorite places to be. The home team is making me crazy this season, but I still love them.

  14. Oh my goodness, hold on a minute. I'm away for two months and I'm just now finding out about the Twindom?? :) Biggest virtual hug and congrats to you, my friend!!! Exciting news indeed!

  15. Congrats on the coming babies! And I feel ya. While I was pregnant, I thought maybe I'd write too, but ended up doing all sorts of other things instead and whenever I sat down to write - no inspiration at all. It's better now! :)
What a great picture! I love it when the sun and clouds make crazy lights.

  16. All I can say with the twins stuff is good luck. >_< From what I've seen, having children will change your life in ways you never imagined, no matter how much preparing you do. I think it will be amazing, but it'll also be chaotic and overwhelming and... yeah. And this is just coming from someone who's watched friends with *one* kid.

    ...good luck! ^_^

  17. Congrats on your impending arrivals! I just had a baby (only one--can't imagine what I'd do with 2!), and like you, I spent the last few weeks before the birth *not* writing. Don't worry though--it will all work out in the end! :)

  18. Don't be hard on yourself. Each birth changes life a little bit. And it makes sense that now is prep time.

  19. Congratulations! Twins? Awesome!

And great that you posted about Alex's book. Congratulations on the release Alex!

  20. Congrats, Alex! And what a beautiful picture. Have you heard of "Go the F*ck to Sleep"? It's a funny bedtime story that I did NOT appreciate until I was a parent. Sleep? Even if my daughter takes no naps she can still stay up until midnight, perfectly fine with making up animal noises (as loud as she can) and trying to surf on whatever surface she happens to be on. To boot, no matter what time she goes to bed, she can still get up before the roosters. So sleep? Um, what's that???
